Event Support
Wintercircus is looking for a hands-on Event Support to help create unforgettable events for audiences, partners, and performers. From setup to showtime: you make the magic happen behind the scenes! Interested? Apply before 31 Oct.
Starting date: asap
Location: Wintercircus
Contract: Fulltime
The iconic Wintercircus is a hub of creativity, history, and innovation. We are looking for a hands-on Event Support who enjoys getting things done, thinking on their feet, and helping others. Someone who anticipates problems before they arise and values hospitality as much as efficiency and technical skill.
What you'll do
You will be the practical engine behind our events: rolling up your sleeves, solving problems on the spot, and ensuring a seamless experience for our audience, partners, and performers alongside the team.
Your role is diverse and dynamic, including:
-
Planning & Execution: Assist in planning and executing the technical and logistical aspects of events in collaboration with the events team.
-
Setup & Teardown: Prepare room layouts, chairs/tables, signage, and materials; afterwards, ensure everything is left tidy, safe, and properly closed.
-
Technical Coordination: You have a basic understanding of lighting, sound, and AV and work with our technical partners to ensure flawless execution. You can guide and follow up with them during productions.
-
Supervision & Safety: Keep eyes and ears on the venue; monitor flow and safety.
-
Customer Service: Serve as a friendly point of contact for guests, partners, and crew; anticipate needs, provide support, and solve problems efficiently.
-
Teamwork & Leadership: Collaborate with colleagues, students, and flex staff; provide clear briefings, maintain a positive atmosphere, and ensure smooth teamwork.
What you bring
-
Hands-on mentality: You see work that needs doing, roll up your sleeves, and find practical solutions.
-
Problem-solving: You are stress-resistant and adapt quickly to changing circumstances.
-
Flexibility: This is not a standard 9-to-5 role. Depending on the schedule, you may start earlier, finish later, and regularly work evenings or weekends. You see this as part of the event dynamics.
-
Independence: You take initiative and manage priorities effectively.
-
Basic Technical Insight: You understand the operation of lighting, sound, and AV setups and can communicate well with suppliers or technicians.
-
Physical Capability: The role requires physical effort such as lifting, moving, and staying active for extended periods. Your step counter will thank you forever.
-
Language Skills: Fluent in Dutch (spoken and written); basic English is required (other languages are a plus).
What we offer
-
A full-time contract with a competitive salary.
-
A versatile role within an enthusiastic and dynamic team.
-
Not just a standard events environment, but a unique combination of corporate events, cultural and musical events, art installations: small, large, high-tech & low-tech—and everything in between. Wintercircus is one of a kind.
-
Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event production in an iconic building.
-
An inspiring work environment where creativity, innovation, and history come together.
