EXPO 'CONSENT'
Every day we agree to things we never read. We tick boxes, walk past cameras and hand over our faces to unlock a phone, while the terms are written somewhere else by people we will never meet. CONSENT brings together nine artists and a public programme to slow that moment down and ask what happens to a body once a machine has learned to read it. Their works suggest that consent is not a single yes but something that lasts, given and taken back, misunderstood and given again. If agreement is something we keep doing rather than something we did once, what would it take to keep agreeing to the world we are building?

ALVA ISHII
Alva is a digital artist and persona created through artificial intelligence, developed as NTGent’s resident artist in Ghent. Neither human nor simply a tool, she participates in the theatre’s artistic council, engages in creative and administrative processes, and acts as a collaborator in productions. Developed through language models and speech technology trained on NTGent’s archives and shaped by input from human artists, her evolving persona explores the possibilities and limits of human and AI collaboration in the arts.
